Before: Arvada Garage Door Replacement
One of our favorite jobs from January was this double garage door replacement in Arvada, Colorado. It’s always so exciting to see how much a simple change to your garage can dramatically elevate the face of your home.
We love the design of this house’s facade — it’s modern, yet timeless. While these basic white doors look fine with the home, they could certainly be doing more in terms of curb appeal.
For this project, we decided that a simple upgrade to the garage doors would allow us to keep the design elements that are already working well while elevating the overall appearance.

Just look at the difference such a small design change can make. These two 8×7 C.H.I Overhead doors are part of C.H.I’s Skyline Flush line (model 2147). They come with a powder finish that significantly cuts down on maintenance and cleaning — even on these bright white doors! The 12” low headroom track and trim we installed will give these homeowners plenty of space for their vehicles and other belongings.
Each door is fitted with four long windows with ⅛” glass that provide excellent insulation (R value of 10.29)! This will significantly cut down on energy costs even in the coldest months of the year. The tinted windows add not only privacy, but contrast to the white doors and siding. Plus, the vertical symmetry of the windows on the garage with the windows on the upper floor makes the whole house look more sleek, modern, and stylish.
These doors were also installed with a new opener — the LiftMaster model 84505r. This is one of my favorite garage door openers on the market. Part of LiftMaster’s premium series, the model 84505r is fitted with a 7’ belt drive, dual led lights to brighten high traffic areas of the garage, and compatibility with the myQ app.
The myQ app is a great feature for any homeowner. It works with Amazon Key so your packages or groceries can be delivered directly to your garage. This opener also has a camera so you can monitor any activity, including deliveries, happening in your garage. The ultra-quiet DC motor will make sure that these homeowners will stay undisturbed from any room in the house.
