Has this ever happened to you?
Let’s say your garbage disposal has stopped working and you’re trying to determine how to properly repair it. You google “how to unclog a garbage disposal,” and you’re directed to a blog post written by a local handyman. But instead of teaching you how to complete this simple task, the author writes a big explanation as to why it’s too risky or dangerous to attempt on your own. “You should call a professional for this kind of repair,” they say, “and conveniently, here’s my phone number.”
It can be incredibly frustrating to hunt for information and find only advertising, and that’s what a lot of the internet ends up being: sales disguised as education.
So when we had the idea to start our own PNG blog, we decided that we wanted to do something a little different, to curate a collection of information and resources that will actually be of use to the DIY-ers trying to repair their own garage doors.
To be sure, there are absolutely garage door repairs (such as broken spring replacement) that you should NOT attempt without an experienced professional, and we’ll be sure to warn you if that is the case.
But there’s plenty that one can accomplish on their own. At PNG, we’d rather empower our clients with the information they need than trick them into hiring someone to replace the batteries in their garage door opener.
At PNG’s DIY Garage Door Blog, you’ll find the knowledge, resources, and step-by-step tutorials you need to tackle a variety of garage door repair projects such as how to program your garage door opener, how to clean your garage door, and how to lubricate a noisy garage door.
Keep an eye on this page for future DIY garage door information. We hope you find what you’re looking for.
