Though we’ve officially entered 2023, we wanted to highlight one of our favorite jobs of the 2022 holiday season — installing a pair of gorgeous new garage doors for some Berthoud, Colorado, homeowners! We fitted this auxiliary garage unit with two 10×8 C.H.I Overhead model 5983 doors, and we’re excited to see how perfectly they complement the siding that is yet to be installed. Since this is a standalone garage unit, the garage door has to be the statement piece to elevate the look of the entire structure.

I, for one, hate when I have to choose between keeping my car in the garage and having somewhere to put all of my extra stuff. Thankfully, these homeowners won’t have to make that choice. We put the doors on a 12-in radius track and trim, providing plenty of storage space within their garage, even when a vehicle is inside.

These doors are finished in a rich dark oak color, which adds some sophistication to the general appearance of the garage. The best part? We also fitted two Stockton windows into each door, which will allow the Colorado sun to pour into the garage for any projects the homeowners may undertake.

We paired both of these doors with LiftMaster 84505 openers. This particular model works great with the myQ app, which gives you updates on the health of your garage door and lets you know when it’s time to schedule maintenance or repair. The DC motor on this opener is also ultra-quiet, so it won’t bother any neighbors or wildlife when coming and going.
Even better, this door works with Amazon Key, which lets Amazon packages and groceries be delivered securely to your garage instead of being left on the porch to be spoiled or stolen. If you don’t trust the delivery person in your garage, you can watch the delivery in real time with the LiftMaster’s built-in camera. Plus, the integrated LED lighting system brightens high-traffic areas of the garage with 1500 lumens of light.
